Once again, Rio Rancho will show it will never forget the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001.

Dozens of volunteers, including Rio Rancho Mayor Gregg Hull, woke up early on Sept. 10 to help with its annual “planting” of 2,996 American flags at Vista Verde Memorial Park to honor those who died in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

A 9/11 memorial ceremony was held Sept. 11.
