The City of Rio Rancho has made reading even more accessible with library lockers.
In February, Rio Rancho began installing lockers outside of two of its libraries as a way to encourage reading and make books and other media items more accessible.
How it works
The new library lockers allow a library user to place a hold on materials and submit online requests from the library catalog at rrnm.gov/library/lockers. The items ordered are then available for pick up at any of the four locker locations, which the user can choose from. The lockers are accessible 24/7 for pickup.
Users will be contacted when items are available for pickup. When a user is at the locker they will scan their library card barcode, select the items to check out on the screen and the door for the items opens.
For more information on how the lockers work or to order your library item for pick up, visit rrnm.gov/library/lockers.
