Police had previously issued a shelter in place warning for nearby residents on Monday but later released it after the suspect was not located. At the time, Corrales police noted that they had alerted officials in Arizona to be on the lookout for the suspect who had connections there.
But earlier this afternoon, an alert reporter with the Corrales Comment spotted a vehicle matching the description pull into homicide location and alerted Corrales police. Three occupants fled in the vehicle after spotting the reporter. Officials found the vehicle unoccupied nearby and relaunched the local search for the suspect.
