Staff report
The Rio Rancho Youth Chorus and the Children’s Chorus of Rio Rancho are set to present “A Beautiful Noise,” a spring concert celebrating nature, community, and the power of young voices. The performances will take place on Saturday and Sunday, May 3 and 4, 2025, at 3 p.m. at St. Francis Episcopal Church, located at 2903 Cabezon Rd in Rio Rancho. Doors open at 2:30 p.m.
Featuring the voices of local children and youth ages 8 to 18, “A Beautiful Noise” promises an inspiring musical celebration of spring, nature, and community. Under the direction of Michelle Zetterholm and Clarissa Clark, the concert will include spring-themed songs, folk tunes, and lesser-known works reflecting themes of renewal, environmental awareness, and hope.
“This concert is more than just a performance—it’s a celebration of young voices, the beauty of our planet, and the joy that music brings to a community,” said Founder/Volunteer Executive Director Neal Shotwell. “It’s about connection, creativity, and sharing something beautiful together.”
The music will be accompanied by a small ensemble of local musicians. ASL interpreter, Jared Mills, will accompany the program at both shows. In keeping with tradition, the choruses will collect toiletries for CASA Partners 4NMKids, supporting local children in foster care. Audience members are encouraged to bring items such as body wash, deodorant, shampoo, and toothpaste.
Proceeds from “A Beautiful Noise” will benefit Rio Rancho Creative Crossroads’ multi-discipline art programs and scholarships. Tickets are $15-$20 and are available at www.rr-cc.org.
Rio Rancho Youth Chorus & Children’s Chorus of Rio Rancho are programs of Rio Rancho Creative Crossroads, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to bringing community cultural arts to Rio Rancho. The choruses offer musical instruction for 3rd-12th grade singers of all backgrounds. No auditions are required.
