With its new dispatch center set to open this summer, Sandoval County is hiring dispatchers and dispatch supervisors.

The Public Safety Emergency Communications Center of Sandoval County (PSECC SC) is the first large-scale dispatch center to be created in the state in over 20 years, according to a press release from Sandoval County. The center aims to be a model for public safety emergency dispatching and will feature the latest technology to ensure 911 communications efficiency and to increase responses from law enforcement and Fire/Emergency Medical Services to the County’s rural, remote, tribal and smaller municipalities.

“We are on track to open July 1, 2025, and are now assembling our Dispatch Center team,” Fire Chief Eric Masterson said. “This is a great opportunity for professionals seeking to continue or start a career in public safety.”

The PSECC SC will be the second Public Safety Access Point in Sandoval County. It is being established because the City of Rio Rancho withdrew from the Sandoval County Regional Emergency Communications Center last year.

The PSECC of Sandoval County will be responsible for the smaller municipalities and the rural, remote and tribal areas of the county while the Rio Rancho Dispatch Center will
concentrate on the changes and challenges associated with its population growth. The two dispatch centers will collaborate and assist each other whenever critical situations present. Bernalillo County and Albuquerque have a similar construct.

The PSECC of Sandoval County is a collaborative effort among Sandoval County, the Village of Corrales, the Town of Bernalillo and the Pueblo of Santa Ana. Also, the PSECC SC will have official partnerships with other County tribal communities and rural municipalities that will contribute to the dispatch center’s goals and operations for the first time.
