Happy 2025. It’s a new year and we have a new way to deliver the news you care about.
This year, The Sandoval Signpost is transitioning from a once-per-week print and email news source to a daily, digital format with an expanded bi-weekly print product.
Why the change? Even in our rural areas where we’re glad things move a little slower, news still happens faster than our old weekly print deadline could respond to.
In our reader survey earlier this year, readers told us they would be glad to have important news emailed to them more quickly, and many still wanted the “big picture” news and local features a print newspaper still provides best.
We’re also listening to our local small businesses which wanted more affordable ways to reach their neighbors. Our new afternoon newsletter often reaches as many daily readers as the print version did each week. And, the new bi-weekly print format will be on newsstands twice as long for those who still love spending time with a local newspaper in print as much as we do.
Starting this week, The Signpost’s website, sandovalsignpost.com, will be updated every weekday and you can subscribe to receive local news, crime and features in your inbox for free each day.
Don’t worry about your actual newspaper. While we’re now printing twice a month instead of weekly, expect better, more in-depth stories and a larger paper. That means we can spend more time creating in-depth community stories for Placitas or Bernalillo and other communities we want to serve (more on that soon!)
For subscribers with an active 6-month print subscription, we have automatically extended your subscription to a full year to ensure you still get every issue you paid for (if you’d prefer to change your subscription, please reach out at 505-300-4087).
With a bigger news staff and more space to tell local stories, our 2025 resolution is to bring more local news about Placitas, Bernalillo and beyond directly to your inbox in more ways – and expand our reach to include Jemez and other parts of Sandoval County who’ve asked us to share more of their local news, too.
We look forward to what 2025 holds for us and our readers. Keep sending us good story ideas!
Hi, the Signpost used to feature an ad that offered a two for one to the comedy club at the Star casino. Any chance of getting that again. I know a lot of folks who used to use that. The current cost of the new comedy club is prohibitive and we just don’t go because of that.
