A new coffee shop that opened in Rio Rancho last week not only offers over 20,000 drink combinations — it also served up a big check to the University of New Mexico Children’s Hospital.
Drive-thru coffee brand 7 Brew celebrated the grand opening of its second New Mexico location and first in Rio Rancho by presenting a $1,000 donation to the children’s hospital.

Dozens were in attendance to celebrate the grand opening of the new location at 2010 Southern Blvd. SE on Sept. 24, including Choco, the UNM Children’s Hospital facility dog. The golden retriever works at the hospital, offering support to children and their families.
According to a press release, 7 Brew strives to serve as a strong community advocate and partners with Children’s Miracle Network Hospital affiliates that provide expert and family-centered care.
“We’re excited to open another location in New Mexico, where we aim to be a place where people can enjoy quality drinks, great company and experience the positive energy and kindness we’re known for,” said Ken Brock, director of operations for 7 Brew Rio Rancho. “Bringing 7 Brew’s energy to Rio Rancho is a great step as we continue growing the brand across the state. In celebration of our opening, we’re proud to make another donation to UNM Children’s Hospital, supporting the incredible care they provide to children and families in our community.”
UNM Children’s Hospital representatives attended the grand opening ceremony and celebrated 7 Brew’s new location.
“We are always excited to collaborate with 7 Brew as they grow their presence in New Mexico,” said Missy Mason, director of children’s services at UNM Children’s Hospital. “The critical care and life-saving work of our medical staff are sustained by the support of partners like 7 Brew, and we are immensely grateful for their ongoing dedication to our hospital.”
The coffee shop’s next step will be to host a Swag Day on Sept. 28, where customers who purchase a large drink will get a free 7 Brew t-shirt.
The release said 7 Brew offers over 20,000 unique drink combinations, including the original Blondie, a caramel and vanilla breve, 7 Energy, smoothies, shakes and teas.
The Rio Rancho location is one of more than 250 stands across the country and will add 50 jobs to the community. Those interested in joining the Brew Crew should apply at 7brew mexico.7brew careers.com
