According to data from the Cannabis Control Division, dispensaries in Sandoval County sold more than $10.9 million worth of medical and adult-use cannabis in the first six months of 2024.
The numbers are down about 12.4% from last year’s sales. In 2023, Sandoval County dispensaries sold more than $12.4 million worth of medical and adult-use cannabis over the same six-month period.
New Mexico’s total cannabis sales have topped $1.2 billion since sales began in April 2022.
The six dispensaries in Rio Rancho sold about $7,363,950 in cannabis in the first six months of the year — or an average of about $1.2 million in sales each month. Those sales are down 17.2% from the first six months of 2023.
Across the rest of the county, in the first six months of 2024, dispensaries in Bernalillo sold $2,834,484 in cannabis, up from $2,796,902 in the first six months of 2023. Dispensaries in Cuba sold $487,312, down from $508,871 in 2023 and dispensaries in Placitas sold $220,124 down from $238,327 in 2023. In April 2023 Herrera Cannabis Company, the only dispensary in Cuba, reported $40 in sales to the Cannabis Control Division — much less than the roughly $70,000 to $140,000 they reported in the other months.
