Robert Kennedy Jr. will remain on the New Mexico ballot for the Nov. 5 general election, despite suspending his presidential campaign and endorsing Donald Trump last week.
“RFK did not submit withdrawal paperwork to our office by yesterday’s deadline so his name will appear as a presidential candidate on the NM General Election ballot,” Alex Curtas, Secretary of State’s Office spokesman said.
As of Aug. 28, he is officially on the ballots of 23 states and awaiting official confirmation of his ballot status in 18 states, including New Mexico where recent polling found him garnering 6% of support against Democrat Kamala Harris (47%) and Republican Donald Trump (41%) before announcing he was suspending his campaign. He has officially been removed from Arizona, Florida, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas, CBS News reported.
“In about 10 battleground states where my presence would be a spoiler, I’m going to remove my name, and I’ve already started that process and urge voters not to vote for me,” Kennedy said.
