Rio Rancho Police say they have taken several calls where individuals are calling citizens pretending to be RRPD officers. The scammers are advising people they have warrants, and requesting money over the phone to resolve them.

RRPD issued an alert letting people know they will never request money for warrants. If you receive a similar call, RRPD is asking that you please hang up. You should then file an online police report, or contact 505-891-7226 to have an officer respond. Police say impersonators often scam during the holiday season.
