The Rio Rancho Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the annual Haunted Canine Karnival at Pet Food Gone Wild in Rio Rancho on Sunday, October 24 from noon to 3pm. Organizers are encouraging pups to dress up, (with their owners of course!) for the costume contest. The event also features a pet parade at 1pm and the costume contest and judging will take place at 1:30pm. There will be prizes for first, second and third place winners.
If it’s a sweet treat you’re looking for, there will be games and treats for pets and their humans alike. Don’t go home empty handed, adopt a fur-ever friend! Local adoption organizations will be on site for pet adoptions.
“We do these to bring the community together, we’re very community oriented. We usually have at least 50 contestants, so we needed a bigger parking lot for the event, said Sam Skeets, Pet Food Gone Wild’s General Manager. “Some of the attendees get dressed up to match their dogs. It’s a great time for the whole family.”
Pet Food Gone Wild is located at 2415 Southern Blvd. in Rio Rancho. The event is free to attend.
May the best pet win!
